In the January 11th issue of USA Today, an article entitled "Ten Places Where Comedy Is King" named Bloomington, Indiana's The Comedy Attic as one of the ten best places to see stand-up comedy in the nation. The news came as a complete shock and was overwhelming to Comedy Attic owners Dayna and Jared Thompson, who opened the club four and a half years ago.
On September 27th, Bloomington Mayor Mark Kruzan addressed a comedy audience for the fifth time, welcoming them to an event with significant meaning: The Comedy Attic was raising money for a tremendous cause- Area 10 Agency on Aging.
The nearly sold out crowd yielded just under $4000 for the Bloomington-area non-profit, between ticket sales, donations and merchandise. For the fifth time, including the inagural show and four subsequent anniversaries, Kruzan had the crowd rolling in the aisle.
It's with deep regret that we inform you that due to an extremely sudden and last minute schedule change on his end, Tim Meadows will not be performing during our 4th Anniversary weekend Sept 27-29.
Since our opening in September 2008, The Comedy Attic has always been cited for the unbelievable lineup of comedians. The first quarter of 2012 will most likely be our most spectacular.
